**Position Information**:
Prairievale Public School is a P3 school in Bossley Park on Dharug Land. It has an enrolment of 402, with 92% of students from a language background other than English. The school's community represents a wonderfully diverse range of cultures, which includes 39 different language backgrounds. It has seven Diverse Learner Classes for students with Autism and Intellectual disabilities and emphasises inclusivity in all aspects of its operations. Prairievale Public School has a strong welfare platform that supports students learning and promotes proactive and preventative behaviour support. The school is a Positive Behaviour for Learning School that implements trauma-informed practices to promote a safe space for children and families to learn and interact. The school actively promotes continuous improvement and successful learner qualities. Our classrooms promote high expectations through culturally rich learning, rich dialogue, visible learning strategies, formative and summative assessments to guide student learning, and differentiated and challenging learning opportunities for all students. We have a strong emphasis on embedded digital technologies and STEAM into all classrooms. **Selection Criteria**:
Approval to teach K-6. Approval to teach primary English as a second language or currently completing or currently enrolled in an approved post graduate qualification for teaching English as a second language K-6 as recognised by the NSW Department of Education

Ability to effectively co-planning and co-teach with classroom teachers integrating EAL/D strategies into mainstream lessons to support language development.

Demonstrated capacity to create culturally responsive and inclusive learning environments that engage with parents and the wider community to support the learning and wellbeing of EAL/D students.

Ability to use assessment tools, ESL scales and EAL/D progressions to inform instructional planning and target language development.

If applicable engagement will be temporary until successful completion of the approved post graduate qualification for teaching English as a second language (_K-6 or secondary_) as recognised by the NSW Department of Education, which must be completed within 12 months
