An industry-leading construction and building materials company seeking a full-time Procurement Officer in North West Sydney
**Your new role**
As Procurement Officer, you will oversee purchasing activities and ensure that goods are cost-effective and high-quality. You will be responsible for building positive relationships with suppliers, assessing supply alternatives, authorising purchases, reducing expenses, and planning to meet the needs of a rapidly growing business. Your responsibilities will include
- Preparing plans for purchasing equipment, services, and supplies.
- Assessing and approving the quality and cost of products and services to be procured.
- Overseeing inventory management (with a focus on precise forecasting) and keeping track of purchase and pricing data.
- Updating and maintaining supplier data such as credentials, delivery schedules, product offerings, etc.
- Building and sustaining good relationships with suppliers and negotiating agreements.
- Investigating and appraising potential suppliers.
- Generating automated reports for materials forecasting based on projects and production teams.
**What you'll need to succeed**
- Extensive experience as a Procurement Officer or in a similar position.
- Construction Industry & building product experience
- Overseas supplier relationship management experience
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Good analytical and strategic thinking skills.
- A degree in accounting, business management or a similar field is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and purchasing software.
