About the Opportunity

The Student Development and Learning (SDL) Academy Pty Ltd operating as Southern Cross School of Business (SCSB) is seeking to employ dedicated Accountant to join finance team as soon as possible. The position is full time and covers business hours between 8:30am - 17:30pm

Your responsibilities will include:

- Preparing financial reports such as Profit & Loss and Balance sheet, month end reporting and cost accounting reports for board of directors and management;
- Assisting in formulating budgetary and accounting policies
- Management of Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable in the accounting system on daily basis;
- Recording month end journals, accruals and prepayments in MYOB;
- Bank and credit card reconciliations;
- Maintenance of Fixed Asset Register and Prepaid Expense account;
- Assist in preparing Budgets and Forecasts;
- Management Reporting - Weekly/Monthly/Quarterly/Half Yearly;
- Lodgement of BAS, IAS, Payroll Tax and Superannuation;
- Assist in Company Tax Return;
- Cash flow and financial risk management.
- Preparing documentation for audit processes;
- Conducting financial investigations and audits, and preparing reports;
- Assist with overall corporate strategy, provide advice and help businesses to reduce costs
- GST preparation monthly;
- Prepare and process reporting to ATO through STP;
- Cooperating with management in drafting new accounting policies and business budgetary;
- Maintain correct payroll data and ensure correct award rates are updated and paid when changes to the award come through

What are we looking for?
- A completed relevant degree
- Ability to work in Australia;
- At least two years relevant experience;
- A logical mind and ability to express ideas effectively in oral and written communications;
- Good attention to detail and reliability in ensuring accuracy of data;
- Good level of competency with Excel, MYOB;
