Today, Moose Toys is looking for a **Product Designer **within the Melbourne Design team.
Our Product Designers are the engine room of our Design teams. They collaborate with our conceptual teams to ideate our next WOW hit but it doesn’t stop there - they are the people responsible for bringing all of these crazy ideas to life Do you love coming up solutions to technical design challenges? **Role Objective**
Our Product Designers drive the technical exploration and execution of features and play pattern on all types of product within the Design portfolio. They work closely with our production counterparts in Moose Far East to evolve ideas from conception to production, and they do this on cost and on time.
Additionally they work within the greater cross functional teams including Conceptual Design, Illustration, Branding and Packaging, Quality, Engineering and Marketing to champion their brands and product throughout the development lifecycle.
**Reporting and Responsibilities**
- Work with Senior Design team to execute market leading product that is on cost and suitable for production.
- Consider factors influencing product design such as selection of materials, production methods, new technologies, cost, safety/quality assurance, etc.
- Responsible for product specification documents and communications including but not limited to; feasibility/specification packages, tooling layouts, CAD data and critical issue lists.
- Responsible for ongoing model development, CAD updates, design change documentation and continual product review to ensure product satisfies Design Teams’ intent, meets quality and safety specifications and is manufacturable to a specified cost.
- Will flourish in a fast-paced environment, meeting agreed deadlines and achieving personal and company goals.
- Prepare required material for presentation and review with Design Leadership Team.

**Key Capabilities/Skills/Experience**
Experience with:

- Consumer product development, preferably within the toy industry.
- Production process for plastics manufacture, including material selection, tooling and moulding restrictions, assembly, basic QA.
- Production process for printing and soft goods manufacture is preferable but not a requirement.
- Experience in communicating with production partners and supplying all relevant documentation to develop product to final manufacture.
- Knowledge of Adobe Suite and CAD software e.g. Solid works, Rhino, or Fusion 360.

**Qualifications**
- Tertiary qualified in a relevant field, such as Product Design Engineering/Industrial Design or similar
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in the toy industry Or minimum 3 years’ experience in a consumer product industry.
