**About the role**:
You will design, create, and manage EPA’s data platform, ensuring data is organised, accessible, secure, and aligned with EPA's objectives. This role also focuses on building spatial capability and a robust open data platform.

**In this role you will**:

- Develop and implement a robust data strategy in partnership with stakeholders.
- Manage a team of data engineers and GIS spatial analysts to build an effective long-term data platform.
- Establish governance for data platforms, guiding data pipeline management and integration.
- Ensure data quality through established validation controls, maintaining accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
- Set up an open data platform and data lake to serve community and agency needs, ensuring appropriate controls are in place.

**Skills and experience**:

- At least five years of experience in managing data platforms/data engineering teams.
- Proven experience in data warehousing, data modeling, and data analysis with tools such as Azure Databricks, PySpark, and Power BI/Tableau.
- Document & Records management experience is recommended
- Proficiency in modern data architectures, cloud services (Azure, GCP), and data warehouse tools (Snowflake, Databricks).
- Strong programming skills in languages such as Java, Python, and SQL, and familiarity with AI/ML concepts.
