**About the School**:
The Brisbane School of Distance Education provides lessons in an on-line environment to over 3500 students. The production team of 3 is led by the A05 Team Leader and provides high level production and copyright services to the whole school staff.

**About the Role**:
The role supports the Production Team Leader, Business Manager, Principal, Heads of School, Head of Department and all school staff in providing a high level of service and advice relevant to an on-line school.

**Responsibilities include**:

- Identify the copyright status of all copyright inclusions for print and electronically delivered materials produced by the unit.
- Supervise the efficient operation of a copyright clearance process to ensure that all necessary copyright permissions are obtained within specified time limits.
- Contribute to the development of policy and procedures on copyright issues to guide project teams developing learning materials and resources and to assist the unit's committees concerned with marketing these resources.
- Research and locate copyright owners using complex bibliographic references and technology based mediums.
- Negotiate with publishers and copyright owners regarding any issues affecting permission requests and deal with any issues arising from these discussions.

**About You**:
The applicant should be knowledgeable with copyright law and policy particularly within an educational context. The applicant must have excellent communication skills as presentations to school staff are often required.

**A mandatory requirement of this role is**:

- In accordance with the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000 a person is prohibited from working in regulated child-related employment unless the person holds a current Working with Children Check clearance (blue card) issued by Blue Card Services.
