The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Paralegal with trade mark experience to join our dynamic intellectual property team. Based in our Brisbane office, this is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated legal support professional eager to work in a collaborative, forward-thinking environment.

You will support our team with matters related to trade mark registration, opposition proceedings, due diligence, and IP portfolio management, working closely with industry experts and senior lawyers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with trade mark searches, filings, and prosecution
  • Prepare and manage trade mark application documents, correspondence, and legal briefs
  • Support trade mark opposition and cancellation proceedings
  • Coordinate client records and manage IP portfolio documentation
  • Liaise with clients and stakeholders in a professional manner
  • Conduct research related to trade mark law and assist with legal review processes
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient case management and positive client outcomes
  • Develop your understanding of trade mark law and gain hands-on experience in IP law practices

Who We Are Looking For

  • Minimum 2 years' experience working as a paralegal or legal assistant in a legal or IP environment, preferably with trade mark experience
  • Strong understanding of trade mark law and procedures
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Well-organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Proficient in legal research, document drafting, and case management
  • Experience with legal practice management software (e.g., Actionstep) is advantageous but not essential
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and solutions-focused with a professional manner
  • Fluency in additional languages (e.g., Mandarin, Cantonese) is highly desirable
