**Who are we looking for?**
We are seeking a University Copyright Officer to join Library, Education Portfolio, Academic Division.
The University Copyright Officer plays an important consultancy and policy development role for QUT and supports systematic, legally compliant, detailed interpretation and policy advice on Australian copyright law applied to learning, teaching and research at the University. This position provides advice to the entire academic community together with any student enquiries and policy advice matters.

**About the area**
Library sits within the Education Portfolio, Academic Division and is responsible for delivering on key university strategies through providing outstanding learning resources, environments and programs; supporting high-impact research and development; and strengthening and extending strategic partnerships with professional and broader communities. As a learning organisation, we continue to strengthen our commitment to client focused service and continuous improvement.
**What you need to succeed**
- Education, training and/or relevant experience equivalent to a postgraduate qualifications in a relevant field such as librarianship and extensive relevant experience.
- Demonstrated capacity to research, understand and translate complex legal material, to confidently articulate issues succinctly in policy advice and briefing documents, web materials, written and verbal advice to senior management, academic and professional staff and students.
- Highly developed interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, with demonstrated ability to liaise and negotiate with a diverse range of stakeholders, and manage constructive and collaborative working relationships, while demonstrating respect for sensitivity and confidentiality of issues.
- Proven ability to work both independently and as a member of a high performance team to contribute to the achievement of organisational and project goals.
- Demonstrated ability to build a team environment and provide leadership and supervision to staff.
