We're an independent statutory authority, established in 1971 and have undergone the biggest transformation in our history with the Environment Protection Act 2017 coming into effect on 1 July 2021. The new Act requires us to change our approach to become a world class regulator, using new powers and tools to prevent risk to the environment and human health.
About the role
