**About the Role**
As the Compliance Manager, you will be responsible for implementing and enhancing the University’s Compliance Management Framework to support the University in meeting its regulatory and compliance obligations. As a senior member of the central compliance function, you’ll have exposure to a broad and diverse range of compliance obligations and will proactively scan the regulatory and compliance environment for any changes.
Engaging with key stakeholders and establishing productive and collaborative relationships is key to your role to inform and monitor compliance and non-compliance and embed a University-wide compliance culture. You’ll lead a small team of two compliance specialists.
Responsibilities include:
- Lead the implementation and enhancement of the University Compliance Management Framework to ensure continued best practice that is aligned to AS/ ISO compliance management standards
- Monitor changes to the University’s compliance landscape via compliance alert tools and environmental scanning to ensure the University is kept up date with its compliance obligations
- Lead and direct the activities to a) assess the risks and impacts of new or amended legislation to the University and b) follow up as necessary to support resolution of any persistent or significant non-compliance, engaging legal support and advice when required
**About You**
With your extensive background in compliance, you will have strong attention to detail with the ability to look at the big picture and identify synergies and formulate strategies across a broad remit. You will be highly analytical, with advanced interpersonal skills and a natural flair for adapting your communication style to suit your diverse range of stakeholders. Your highly effective stakeholder management skills and ability to quickly build and maintain effective working relationships will set you up for success in this role.
You will also have:
- A relevant tertiary degree or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training
- Demonstrated professional knowledge, expertise and experience of enterprise compliance management in a large or complex organisation
- Demonstrated capability and experience in leading a specialist team in a large or complex organisation to implement and continuously improve an enterprise compliance management system
