**The Role**
As part of your role you will be/be required to:

- Accountable for leading a small team of Permanent and Part-time Royal Australian Airforce (RAAF) personnel, managing allocated resources, setting work area priorities, managing workflows, developing strategies and evaluating business outcomes.
- Accountable for managing and leading a team, including providing clear and consistent communication, setting clear performance and behavioural standards, managing performance, delegating responsibility and guiding and developing people.
- Accountable for accurate completion of work within timeframes and quality requirements, share own expertise with others and guide and mentor less experienced employees.
- Plan, lead and manage quality and safety assurance, governance, auditing and corporate reporting activities and identify improvements for quality assurance processes and practices.
- Manage strategic audits and reviews of quality and safety assurance systems in the areas of strategic and business planning, quality management, safety management, performance measurement, continuous improvement and business and corporate management.
- Implement and provide advice on efficient and effective quality and safety assurance, governance and business reporting functionalities.
- Engage and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders on quality and safety assurance activities to ensure expected outcomes are achieved.
- Liaise with team members and identify, assess, prioritise and coordinate quality and safety assurance, governance and reporting activities.
- Evaluate, monitor and report on quality and safety assurance operations and ensure compliance with relevant requirements.
- Design and implement strategies to enhance the effectiveness of quality and safety assurance, governance and risk management processes.

**About our Team**
23 Squadron conducts Airbase Operations at RAAF Base Amberley, including but not limited to Aerodrome management, Air Movements, Aviation Refueling, Firefighting, Catering and Airbase Security. The functions are diverse and highly regulated, requiring specialist employees in each of the domains, supported by human resources, logistics, training and governance personnel. 23 Squadron is the largest Air Force Unit, comprising approximately 600 personnel, including a mix of Australian Defence Force, APS and Contractor personnel.

The Governance Section, comprising quality and safety management, consists of approximately 10 permanent and reserve personnel.
