Tweed Shire Council is seeking a talented Team Leader - Open Space Operations to join our Sustainable Communities and Environment Division in a permanent full-time capacity.

Reporting directly to the Manager Parks and Active Communities Unit, the position is responsible for the operational management of our parks, sports fields and related facilities, asset management, nursery, tree management and public toilets. You will oversee and lead the development of the Tweed Shire's sport and active recreation program including strategic planning, capital works delivery and capacity building of the industry and clubs and associations.

**About the role**:

- undertake reviews of services to ensure efficient and effective delivery of service
- assist the Manager in the development of annual park maintenance and development budgets
- responsible for the sports and active recreation program
- contributes to the review of subdivision plants to assess dedication of public open space and related assets
- coordinates maintenance of all Parks and Active Communities assets, and other areas of council
- manage the capital works delivery program for active open space

**We are seeking**:

- degree qualifications in a relevant field OR extensive demonstrated experience managing large operational teams that deliver sport and active recreation projects, manage assets, programs and facilities
- demonstrated understanding of the principles of best value public asset management
- demonstrated leadership, negotiation and influencing skills
- demonstrated expertise in resolving complex operational program issues
