**The Role**
As Collins Submarine Contract Manager, you will be accountable under limited direction to perform complex strategic sourcing and contract management tasks. Your knowledge and understanding of legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence’s mission and policy requirements will be important for success in this role.

In your role you will work independently with the opportunity for autonomy and accountability in the delivery of outcomes. You will manage and provide clear direction, assistance and services relating to procurement policy issues and commercial, legal, financial investigation, technical and other requirements as applicable in order to support contract management outcomes.

You will be encouraged to maintain ongoing self-improvement initiatives and professional development. You will also be expected to work collaboratively as a key team member and lead in key areas to develop core skills within the team.

**About our Team**
The Collins Submarine Program within the National Shipbuilding Sustainment Group (NSSG) is responsible for the maintenance and programmed upgrade of Australia’s Collins Class submarines. The Program works in partnership with the Royal Australian Navy and Industry to deliver the strategic submarine capability to the nation.

- Be accountable for leading and undertaking procurement planning, tendering and contract formation while ensuring compliance with legislation, procurement policies, processes and procedures.
- Engage and negotiate with clients and stakeholders, responding to complex enquiries and contract management issues.
- Take initiative to identify and resolve issues and recommend alternative courses of action;
- Draft and review contracting correspondence including complex, commercially sensitive reports, submissions, contract change proposals and other documents as required.
- Build, sustain and encourage productive relationships with team members and stakeholders and actively participate in team work and group activities.
