**About the Opportunity**
Reporting into the Procurement Manager, the purpose of this position is to manage strategic procurement categories and activities for one of ASC’s leading projects as part of ASC’s Digital Transformation Program (DTP) that will benefit the company for years to come. This position will develop, deliver or support business critical category strategies and related sourcing activities through proactive engagement with key business stakeholders and the external market to ensure value for money outcomes.
The role is responsible for leading engagement with strategic suppliers and undertaking contracting and procurement activity at all levels including defining strategic sourcing strategies, project strategies, schedule planning, negotiation ensuring value for money and delivery on time while managing subcontractor risk.
This position is a six-month fixed term contract based in Osborne, SA.
**About Digital Transformation Program**
The ASC DTP is a multi-year strategic program of work to transform ASC’s business process and business systems which commenced in May 2021. The program includes multiple external providers and a total program team in excess of 100 people, located across both SA & WA sites. It will be a high paced and complex program consisting of multiple parallel projects, project streams and business stakeholders.
**Responsibilities**
- Provide local management support to the relevant Procurement team members and operate as the local point of contact.
- Support the implementation of Procurement capability development framework by providing on the job training, guidance and mentoring to relevant local team members.
- Develop category strategies and sourcing plans that provide value for money, support on time delivery and manage ASCs risk.
- Establish relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure that category and sourcing strategies are aligned with the business objectives and to enlist their support in participating in these activities.
- Management of key contract performance in cooperation with respective contract owners.
- Ensure that best practice procurement is applied across the ASC DTP.
- Provide mentoring to all relevant team members and foster continuous improvement within the team.
- Manage contract and values for assigned contracts.
**Desirable competencies and experiences**
- Tertiary qualification in commerce, law, supply chain or related.
- Procurement of large and complex IT based systems requiring significant integration and testing
- In-depth knowledge of category management, strategic sourcing and contracting principles and best practices.
- Exceptional written communication skills.
- Strong negotiation skills for use in large and / or complex deals.
- Significant knowledge of contractual terms and conditions to mitigate legal risk.
- Knowledge of enterprise risk management.
- Knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting and business case development.
- Strong commercial acumen.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office products
