As such, we are looking for Underwater Specialists to deliver assurance to large acquisition projects as part of the National Naval Shipbuilding Enterprise.

Join us and contribute to significant capability uplift and next generation technologies, which will strengthen Australia’s national security and prepare us for the Nuclear Powered Submarine and beyond. These roles will predominantly be based in Adelaide, Sydney and Canberra but other locations may be considered.

More information will be provided specific to the roles, but we are keen to hear from applicants with the following skill sets.

Senior Project Management professionals, ideally with working knowledge of the design of platform systems in Collins Class SSK’s and SSN’s

Skilled Practitioners with specialised under water experience in areas such as:
Naval Architecture

Survivability

Propulsion and Drive Trains

Weapons Handling and Discharge

Electrical Systems

Mechanical Systems

Engineering Management, including Design Management

Due to the nature of this work, a current NV1 security clearance is required.

If selected, there may be an opportunity for knowledge transfer and further skilling in the UK via QinetiQ’s ongoing long-term programs that provide specialist Test and Evaluation to customers, including the Submarine Delivery Agency as outlined below.

Test, Trials, Training and Evaluation (T3E). A 25-year contract for the operation of 15 land, sea and air ranges, and specialist test facilities, and the provision of specialist technical expertise and support services.
Maritime Strategic Capability Agreement (MSCA). A 25-year contract assuring the ability to design, build and safely operate the RN’s surface and subsurface fleets through independent design, test, evaluation, and assurance services.

Naval Combat Systems Integration Support Service (NCSISS). A 15-year collaborative contract for combat systems integration services for both in-service and future platforms
