**About this Role**
The Principal ISL East role will assist with the design and delivery of Asset and site based Indigenous workforce initiatives, by sourcing appropriate support and learning mechanisms related to Indigenous matters at an asset level to enhance the overall success of the ISL program.
In this role, you will:
- Work with Talent & Performance to identify and deploy appropriate support mechanisms at an Asset level for Indigenous employees, while supporting ISL team members to execute appropriate mechanisms at the site and function level.
- Support ISL team members and assist with complex case management loads and escalated concerns requiring additional cultural and/or policy expertise.
- Align site KPIs and metrics to Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) in order to identify opportunities for initiatives, related to progress while ensuring compliance and reporting of Indigenous workforce at both Asset and site levels.
- Work with Indigenous Engagement team to understand relationship requirements with Prescribed Bodies Corporate (PBCs), Traditional Owner corporations and local communities to support site-level engagement with these groups.
- Play a lead role in the ISL community of practice across Minerals Australia.
**Qualifications & Skills to be successful in this role**:
- Proven ability to plan and deliver initiatives and culturally sensitive communications, preferably for Indigenous groups.
- Proven ability to lead teams for high performance, ensuring inclusivity while maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Previous experience in a similar role in case management, advocacy, community is recommended but not mandatory.
- Relevant vocational, TAFE or University qualification(s) (e.g. HR/ER, healthcare, community development) is recommended but not mandatory.
- Understanding of and experience in the mining sector and BHP’s operating environment is recommended but not mandatory.
**Location**
This role can be based in Adelaide or Brisbane on a Monday - Friday basis. Travel to our various sites on occasion may be required.
