**The client**: A global logistics business with growing operations across Australia. they employ circa 250 staff across the country and operate under two awards. The business is lookingh into the possibility of outsourcing Payroll in the next 12 months and would like to find a Payroll Manager to help them select a vendor, or perhaps to even help keep payroll in-house.

The role: Reporting to the Head of P&C, as a standalone Payroll Manager you will take full control & responsibility for 250 employees spread across Australia. Pay cycles will occur weekly, ftn & monthly using the ADP system.

Your duties will include the normal things:

- Responsible for managing and executing payroll for all employees across the different entities, including all related employee movements, leave management, and entitlement changes
- Manage the Australia payroll activities including but not limited to payroll tax, superannuation, payment summaries, FBT, salary sacrifice arrangements, workers' compensation, and other financial reporting requirements
- Manage all payroll reporting and reconciliations, including any government reporting requirements and statistics
- Manage the delivery of payroll technology initiatives and improvements for Australia
- Responsible for ensuring effective procedures and processes in place to ensure data accuracy, compliance and controls are maintained across a variety of HR and payroll systems
- Support the execution of reward practices across Australia eg. Annual merit reviews, bonus payments, benefits, recognition, remuneration & benefit surveys
- Continuously review and improve processes, procedures, or policies to ensure simplicity, compliance and cost-effectiveness
- Actively contribute to and support the HR and Finance teams in Australia
- Establish and maintain effective relationships internally (i.e. HR and Finance colleagues and across Functions), external professional and supplier networks to improve knowledge sharing and service provision

In addition to the duties above, you will also have the opportunity to work with the business to select and possibly engage with an outsourced payroll provider sometime next year (the plan to outsource is likely, but not guaranteed).

The role is currently offered as a 12-month fixed-term contract, but that could easily be extended depending on the speed of the outsourcing project, or even become permanent if payroll is ultimately kept in-house. A salary between $100k - $110k + Super is on offer, depending on your exact previous experience.
