**About the role**
In this role, you will establish and drive the implementation of leading practice integrated strategy development, that enables effective and sustainable decisions to made for the organisation to deliver on Council’s strategic aspirations.

Key responsibilities include:

- Contribute expertise, or leverage the expertise of others, to deliver strategic activities and deliverables, such as the Organisation Strategy, that enable the organisation to achieve our overall objectives which contribute to Our Community Plan and Community Vision.
- Coordinate research and analysis to provide strategic insights and ideas that assist with strategy design and implementation across the organization.
- Help uplift the maturity of strategic-thinking and capabilities across the organisation through the development of strategic frameworks, models, tools, and processes.
- Manage the City’s Planning Catalogue to ensure all categories have relevant, high quality strategic documents that can assist ELT and Council with strategic decision making.
- Partner with business owners and SMEs through the development and alignment of strategies, in line with our organisational strategy development model.
- Lead portfolios of work to ideate, design and implement strategic processes, tools, and ways of working that deliver strategically aligned deliverables and outcomes.
- Coordinate effective and informed strategic discussions and planning activities with internal and external stakeholders.
- Reinforce the City’s business model and ensure alignment between Strategy, Business Model, Capabilities and our Target Operating Model.

**About you**
To be successful in this role, you will have demonstrated knowledge and proven experience in leading Strategy Development and Business Model design, preferably with some knowledge of Organisation Design, Organisation Development and Project Management.

Essential Experience:

- Postgraduate qualification in Commerce or Business related discipline, plus significant experience, or an equivalent combination of formal qualifications and experience. (MBA desirable but not essential)
- Demonstrated experience in managing senior stakeholders i.e. government, boards, coaching an executive team and collaborating with others in the pursuit of business goals with organisation-wide impact.
- Highly developed conceptual and analytical skills, with proven ability to monitor and analyse trends and make recommendations.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills with the proven ability to build effective relationships and communicate with a diverse range of people internally and externally.
- Proven ability to challenge the status quo and manage change in a complex and often challenging work environment.
- Proven ability to effectively negotiate with and influence stakeholders to achieve support and strategic outcomes.
