**About the role**

As a Strategy Lead at the City of Greater Geelong you will be responsible for the facilitation and improvement of our key enterprise-wide strategic initiatives and processes. Through collaboration with cross-functional teams, you will uplift strategic maturity to enable the formulation of actionable strategies and plans that align with the organisation's goals and proactively championing the City and Council’s strategic agenda.

Key responsibilities include:

- Coordinating the development and ongoing review of key strategic documents, including the Community Vision and Council Plan.
- Leading and championing the delivery of the City’s Organisation Strategy to ensure understanding, integration and alignment across the organisation.
- Facilitating the translation of high-level strategies into actionable plans that support the organisation to achieve our strategic objectives.
- Developing tools, processes and activities to uplift the maturity of the strategic thinking and capabilities across the organisation.
- Partnering with senior leaders to uplift strategic capability to enable effective participation in strategic planning and execution.
- Partnering with the broader organisation to foster strong collaboration to enable effective discussions to ensure alignment of strategic initiatives with operational activities.

**About you**
To be successful in this role, you will have demonstrated knowledge and proven experience in leading strategy development and execution, preferably with some knowledge of Business Improvement, Organisation Design and Project Management methodologies.

Essential Experience:

- Tertiary qualification in Commerce or Business-related discipline, plus significant experience, or an equivalent combination of formal qualifications and experience (MBA desirable but not essential)
- Demonstrated experience in managing senior stakeholders i.e. government, boards, coaching an executive team and collaborating with others in the pursuit of business goals with organisation-wide impact.
- Highly developed conceptual and analytical skills, with proven ability to monitor and analyse trends and make recommendations.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills with the proven ability to build effective relationships and communicate with a diverse range of people internally and externally.
- Proven ability to challenge the status quo and manage change in a complex and often challenging work environment.
- Proven ability to effectively negotiate with and influence stakeholders to achieve support and strategic outcomes.
