Technical Systems Administrator
**Position Purpose**
To provide a high level of technical systems administration and support to the Council and be responsible for leading the design, testing, and implementation of ICT systems, including cloud computing, systems software, and automation software, in accordance with industry standards, compatibility, security, and sustainability.

**Key Duties & Responsibilities**
- Systems Support_
- Resolve level 3 Incidents and Service Requests for the team's services within expected service level standards.
- Ensure Council’s End User Computing (EUC) environment and its management infrastructure platforms meet performance, reliability, and security requirements.
- Manage an inventory of IT assets and ensure accurate Enterprise Architecture-related artifacts.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation.
- Manage small projects for business service improvement.
- Escalate and manage issues to vendors when necessary.
- Provide Level 3 support for EUC equipment, Operating Systems, and Corporate Applications.
- Prepare and review IT-related policies, standards, procedures, guidelines, and plans.
- Collaborate with external consultants and IT systems suppliers for system enhancement.
- Support the development and deployment of corporate mobile IT systems.
- Provide cross-specialist systems support during IT staff leave.
- Assist other team members in troubleshooting escalated support inquiries.
- Assist in evaluating new or enhanced systems to meet corporate operational needs.
- Technical Systems Administration_
- Administer and maintain Windows Servers.
- Administer and maintain database/SQL Servers.
- Administer and maintain Active Directory & Group Policy.
- Administer and maintain Microsoft Azure platform.
- Handle packaging and software deployment/patching for Operating Systems and Applications.
- Administer SOE images for corporate server and end-user equipment, including mobile devices.
- Administer Server-side corporate printer systems and printer hardware.
- Ensure server and licensed server software operating systems' security and legality.
- Administer Server and Network monitoring systems, including regular reporting.
- Develop technical specifications for service solutions procurement.
- Review process improvements within branch functions, including policies, documentation, and SLA development.
- Branch Activities_
- Follow change control processes and procedures for requests and issues requiring escalation.
- Collaborate with other branch teams on projects as required.
- Represent Council at networking events.
- Perform other relevant duties as required by the Manager.
- Customer Service_
- Demonstrate strong customer focus, providing accurate, responsive, timely, and courteous service.
- Respond to internal and external inquiries and complaints with initiative, judgment, and discretion.

**WHS Responsibility**

**Risk Management Responsibilities**

- Understand and adhere to Risk Management principles.
- Assist in identifying risks and risk treatments.
- Report emerging risks, issues, and incidents.
- Follow Council policies and procedures.
**Essential Criteria**
- Tertiary qualifications in an Information Systems related discipline and/or relevant industry experience.
- Proficiency in administering and supporting a Windows Standardized Operating Environment (SOE), including Mobile Device Management.
- Strong skills in administering Windows Server, SQL Server, Active Directory, Windows 10/11, Microsoft 365, Intune/Endpoint, and Office 365 (including Teams, SharePoint Online, and OneDrive).
- Experience in administering workloads in public/private cloud environments.
- Technical knowledge across foundational technologies such as virtualization, cloud computing, security tools, end-user mobility, and reporting and analysis tools.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a high-performance team following industry best practice frameworks such as ITIL.
**Desirable Criteria**
- Previous Local government employment in IT support and administration.
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., Cyber Security, Microsoft Windows server/Azure, etc.).
- Experience and industry certifications in Change and Project Management.
- Experience in Cloud Computing/Infrastructure as a Service environment.
