**Principal Broker**

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Principal Broker to join Marsh in Melbourne. Working within the Affinity team, you will be responsible for the growth, profitability and client satisfaction of a book of business containing large not-for-profit accounts. This includes managing and developing client relationships, acting as the client's trusted advisor, pursuing new business development, and expanding and diversifying the mix of Marsh products and services the client holds.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced individual looking for a rewarding role where they can develop their leadership skills and progress in their career. Some interstate travel will be required.

**We will count on you to**:
- Meet and exceed service standards agreed in the client’s service agreement
- Develop and maintain effective long-term relationships with key client decision makers and frequently monitor political, management and other changes within the client organisations to preserve and protect the Company's relationship with the client
- Take a pro-active approach to all aspects of account management and service delivery to clients, ensuring client needs are identified and met in line with agreed service standards
- Implement successful account retention and defence strategies
- Manage, mentor, co-ordinate and develop junior team members and administrative staff through clear and effective communication, delegation and performance management
- Contribute towards achieving Divisional and Team business plans and objectives
- Consistently meet and exceed revenue and expense budgets
- Maintain an awareness of all large and potentially complicated claim-related matters and assist claims personnel in the negotiation of equitable claim settlements on behalf of clients
- Engage with and manage all internal stakeholders in delivering ‘all of Marsh’ to your client base
**What you need to have**:
- Tier 1 Insurance Broking Compliance qualification
- Diploma of Financial Services (Insurance Broking) highly desirable
- 5+ years’ experience in insurance broking
- Clear and effective communication skills
- Strong negotiation skills
- Ability to work autonomously within a multi-skilled team
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritise workload, and meet deadlines
- Excellent delivery of technical, administrative, and consulting support to internal and external clients
- Awareness of environmental, financial, regulatory, and social factors affecting clients’ operations and business
