**About the role**:
The Procurement Team Leader, leads a small team of dedicated procurement specialists and is responsible for:
- Leading and supporting procurement activities to driving and deliver value for money / cost-effective procurement outcomes to customers for the department
- Leading and providing effective relationship management through a partnership approach with divisions, to improve engagement and capability
- Maintaining strong commercial and policy acumen and a customer-focused approach within the team to deliver strong and compliant procurement support
- Providing high-level procurement advice and support to a diverse range of customers
- Identifying improvement opportunities
The Procurement Team Leader is responsible for leading, and supporting their team to lead, goods and services procurements and funding activities across a range of categories and complexities, in line with the department's procurement framework. The position is also responsible for supporting procurement improvement in the department through the development of strong relationships with divisions, procurement improvement projects, the provision of well-informed procurement advice and support, and a customer-focused approach to service delivery.

**About you**:
- Customer-focused, with a partnership approach to relationship management?

- Experienced in end-to-end procurement activities, including the provision of expert advice about procurement sourcing approaches and processes, approval frameworks, policies and control gates to internal clients and stakeholders.
**Key Accountabilities**
Strategic Planning and Project Delivery - Maintain an understanding of issues impacting the department's clients and investigate and lead critical projects that improve operating practices, services delivery, efficiency, capability and customer experience.
Risk Management - Support the development, implementation and delivery of risk management and compliance initiatives, and contribute to the preparation and delivery associated reports to key stakeholders including the Chief Procurement Officer, Procurement Committee and Executive Board.
Stakeholder Management - Lead stakeholder engagement and consultation to ensure procurement policy and strategy initiatives and requirements are implemented and adopted efficiently and in alignment with the department's operating environment.
Organisational Awareness - Demonstrate how the actions and outcomes of this role and work unit impact clients and the department's ability to deliver, or facilitate the delivery of, effective support and services.
**Qualifications / Specialist Expertise**
Qualifications - A tertiary qualification in fields relevant to procurement is highly desirable but not essential.
Specialist Expertise - Strong understanding of/experience in financial management and procurement requirements within the framework of the Financial Management Act 1994 and Victorian Government Purchasing Board Guidelines.
