Outstanding opportunity within the imbedded Strategic Engagement team of a high-profile Federal Government Department to provide high quality strategic communication services to develop and deliver communication and engagement strategies, increase awareness of projects, build trust with stakeholders at all levels and support the executive team.

**This is your opportunity to join a passionate and high performing communications team, where you will develop and implement communications plans and tactics that will have a positive impact on the environment at a national level.**

Be rewarded and appreciated for your innovative ideas and creative approach in this 6 month non-ongoing EL1 contract or S26 temporary transfer, with the potential for extension. Parkes location with flexibility to work from home up to two days per week.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Provide strategic advice on communication plans, media, content development and stakeholder engagement activities
- Develop and deliver communication projects and media content
- Engage and collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders
- Write, edit, coordinate and quality assure a broad range of communication materials
- **Manage a small team of 1 or 2 APS 6**

**This role will suit an experienced Strategic Communications professional, who is able to build strong relationships with key stakeholders, understands how sensitivities can influence how to frame communications and can also successfully navigate changing priorities.**

**Key Requirements**:

- Qualifications in communications, public relations or media highly regarded
- Proven public sector experience working in media and/or strategic communications
- Demonstrated experience developing and executing communication strategies and plans
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly on sensitive issues
- Strong stakeholder liaison skills, with proven ability
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to anticipate needs and prioritise deadlines
- Initiative, judgement and a flexible approach to work
- A customer service approach and ability to liaise effectively at all levels
- Australian citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a baseline clearance
