Your new company
This diverse Government agency, striving to provide a significant difference to the community, are searching for a compassionate, community focused person to join their team. This is an important team leadership position requiring an EL1 Assistant Director Transition Communications and Engagement officer for a 12-month contract.

Your new role
You will be interacting with an inclusive community, supporting, and guiding them to a brighter future. Reporting to the Director, you will have delegated authority and responsibility to resolve issues and risks across wide-ranging activities of substantial depth. The role requires providing leadership, control, planning, resource management, performance management, and decision making. Other duties will include:

- contributing to the strategic direction of projects and business improvement initiatives, driving the strategic and co-ordinated management of targeted communications and engagement activities
- leading staff to deliver timely, innovative, efficient, and evidence-based communications and engagement strategies, plans, content, and activities that support’s the agencies plan and project objectives
- managing and optimising internal and external communications and engagement channels to reach target audiences, whilst also having the aptitude to utilise reporting metrics to review the impact
- building and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, guiding your team with providing advice, quality assurance, and support

What you'll need to succeed

With your previous experience in building and supporting the development of your teams’ knowledge, skills, and abilities, you will also have experience in:

- demonstrated communications skills
- identifying and understanding improvement opportunities, generating those ideas, and implementing solutions
- building proactive and effective relationships with stakeholders and clients, as well as conflict management skills
- managing and undertaking detailed or sensitive projects that impact on the strategic, political, or operational outcomes of the agency
