About the role*
As part of a small staff services team, your main responsibility as a Payroll/HR Assistant will be to provide a high level of administration support to the Payroll Supervisor & HR Officer in the smooth, accurate and efficient delivery of payroll and HR services for the organisation.
This includes end to end processing of a large, multi-site payroll in accordance with relevant Awards, Enterprise Agreements, Statutory requirements, policies and procedures and general HR administration at all phases of the employee life cycle that will optimize and improve the employee experience

Key responsibilities: *
*
Coordination, preparation, processing and checking of the fortnightly payroll and undertake transactions relating to employment conditions including salary overpayments/underpayments and recovery.
- Ensure data integrity of payroll is upheld to the highest standard
- Provide general HR administrative support to the HR Manager and HR Officer as required including data entry into different HR systems
- Maintain accurate payroll records and adhere to highest levels of confidentiality including, but not limited to updating and maintaining associated personnel and payroll records, employment contracts and other HR documentation.
- Provide high-quality customer service through effective communication, offering timely responses to a range of queries and flexible problem solving.
- Manage the administrative processes and correspondence associated with the employee life cycle, from attraction through to separation.
- Assist in the management of the shared Recruitment, HR info and HR inboxes including responding to enquiries in a timely manner and escalating matters as required
- As a member of the Staff Services Team, contribute to key projects and assist in the identification and development of improvement initiatives in HR and Payroll.

What You Will Bring With You*
- Recognized qualifications in finance, accounting or business-based field are regarded highly.
- Experience working in a HR environment, preferably in a professional organisation were dealing with sensitive information confidentially is paramount.
- Demonstrated experience working with, Microsoft Office packages, and HR information systems.
- High level interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal) and the ability to work with and provide information to staff and management and external stakeholders.
- Well-developed analytical and conceptual skills including the ability to resolve problems, develop solutions and achieve results, together with the ability to undertake and resolve payroll and HR related issues
- Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to prioritise tasks
