Downer acts as the facility manager at The Royal Adelaide Hospital (RAH). The RAH is the largest, busiest and most technologically advanced hospital in Australia with 800 single in-patient rooms, including 100 same-day beds and 80,000 same-day and overnight patient admissions per year.

**About The Role**

In this multifaceted role where you will be working across both Orderly and Logistic functions of the business supporting the effective delivery and smooth running of departments and units requesting assistance to move or collect patients, equipment, medicines, and other objects which has a direct impact on patient care.

**Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to**:
**Orderly**
- Movement of patients using bed, barouche (trolley), wheelchair or occasionally on foot
- Under direction assist with the turning / repositioning of patients
- Conduct safety checks on equipment prior to any transport being used
- Respond to all electronic data or voice communications received through their hand-held communication device without delay
- Hazard and incident identification, reporting and elimination approached pro-actively and consistent with company policies or procedures
- Perform cleaning of beds / barouches / wheelchairs / other equipment

**Logistics**
- Manage day-to-day freight operations to meet customer expectations and minimise cost
- Be involved in the day-to-day operation of the Distribution functions (as required) performing any distribution duty and working alongside as directed to help achieve required operational outcomes
- Develop and maintain a good operational knowledge of any computer or technical systems used in the delivery of the service required in normal operations.
- Ensure security of the entire workplace with particular attention to the Dangerous Drugs area and maintain compliance with government regulations and reporting requirements as required under our licence to distribute pharmaceuticals.

**About You**
- Showcase consistency and reliability when executing physical role
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to develop and sustain productive working relationships
- Ability to manage time and prioritise tasks effectively
- Strong MS Office skills and knowledge are advantageous
- A positive approach to working safely
- Previous experience in a healthcare environment is desirable but not essential
