**About the role**

The Security Officer’s role is pivotal in the provision of a safe and secure environment for staff, patients, visitors and other members of the public at Ballarat Health services.

Primarily, this role ensures the security of buildings, facilities and equipment while promoting an awareness of security. Our team is collaborative, we value clear communication and process improvement. The team understands the importance of connection and make time to make this happen. Our Mission and primary role is to deliver quality care to the communities we serve by providing safe, accessible and integrated health services resulting in positive experiences and outcomes. We offer paid attendance training courses including Mental Health First Aid and Safety Interventions as well as on-site refresher training for staff.

Our rosters are flexible, we are active in the Social Club and we hold regular security team events to build our team relationships

You will be trained across all areas of Security operations at BHS including but not limited to: Shift allocations at Base and QEC sites, AAU rostered, Access Control, ED overnight, Patient watch and any other shift as directed by the Security Manager or Deputy Security Manager.

**Skills and experience**
- Security License (issued by Victorian Licensing and Regulation Division)
- Certificate II in Security Operations
- 2 years Security or Hospital experience preferred but not essential
