**Position Purpose**

The key purpose of this position is to provide high quality administration and project support
for The Animal Hospital At Murdoch University (TAHMU).

**About the Work Area**

Murdoch University is home to the only Veterinary School in Western Australia, and its
prestigious teaching hospital provides the clinical facility that enables students to have the
clinical ‘hands-on’ opportunity. It also provides a service to community through its team of
top specialists who oversee the care and treatment of all animals referred to the Hospital.

The Animal Hospital At Murdoch University (TAHMU) aims to provide an environment where

Administrative Officer

**Key Responsibilities/Duties**

1. Support TAHMU management with the coordination of the marketing and events

calendar and actual events both on campus and off site. If requested, support TAHMU
management in the evaluation of marketing events, liaison with Murdoch’s Design,
Marketing and Events teams and coordinate with external entities manufacturing
TAHMU specific marketing collateral.

2. Coordinate the day-to-day administration for TAHMU in consultation with TAHMU
maintain department stationery supplies and staff resources; organise and provide
administrative support for meetings.

3. As directed, assist with employee contracts; prepare and submit employment
paperwork (including recruitment and HR forms); manage the maintenance of staff files
and office records; arranging for archiving to be completed when necessary; assist with
the planning and organisation of staff inductions and orientations and provision of
access cards, badges, etc.

4. Attend TAHMU management and specialist meetings as required, preparing and
circulating agendas, minutes and papers as requested. If requested support the
administration team with producing annual TAHMU calendar and committee schedules
and maintain records of committee memberships on behalf of the administrative team
and senior managers.

5. Provide administrative support to TAHMU management in the areas of communications,
infrastructure maintenance and upgrades, events, marketing, miscellaneous projects
and activities.

6. Arrange visits, conferences, coordinate travel arrangements, visa requests and
accommodation as required.

7. Assist TAHMU management with the review, development and implementation of
TAHMU policies, procedures, and guidelines.

8. Provide relief for reception areas and administration staff within The Animal Hospital as
requested by TAHMU management.

9. Comply with all University and Hospital policies, procedures and protocols relevant to
Veterinary industry related Acts and Regulations.

1. Completion of a diploma level qualification and at least 2 years subsequent relevant

work experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or
education/training.
