**Position Purpose**
The Project Support Officer is responsible for providing Portfolio, Program and Project support
to the ITS Project Services team, contributing to the successful delivery of projects.
Supporting project governance activities, onboarding new staff, maintaining project data and
preparing consolidated Portfolio and Project Status and management reports. The role is
instrumental to assisting in the creation of annual Portfolio Plans and the maintenance of
support systems through the annual execution life-cycle.

**Key Responsibilities/Duties**
**Portfolio Planning and Management**:
1. Maintain Portfolio Delivery plans in line with Murdoch Strategic Business
Goals - engage ITS stakeholders.
2. Undertake project administration or other duties as required in support of the
portfolio planning process.

**Program/Project Delivery**
3. Responsible for providing support to Project Managers to ensure data for all projects
is complete and up to date. Manage small IT delivery projects as and when required.
4. Proactively support the project team(s) by scheduling and coordinating meetings and
steering committees. Prepare meeting documentation packs, take meeting minutes,
log and follow up meeting actions and outcomes.
5. Accountable for establishing new colleague computing requirements (logons, personal
computers, access facilities) and setting/carrying out onboarding/orientation processes
and practices for new starters.
**Portfolio, Program/Project Reporting**
6. Accountable for the maintenance, tracking and accuracy of project data in the project
tracking system, updating project information, project status, financial data,
timesheets, change, risk and issue registers.
7. Provide Project Status and Portfolio Reporting to Stakeholder Groups and the ITS
Senior Leadership Team covering scope, status, financials, risks and issues.
8. Responsible for the ITS interface to Finance Division for Project Financials and capital
and operational Reporting. Accountable for raising procurement and purchase order
requisitions.
**Project Delivery Methods and Practices**
9. Undertake continuous improvement as required to the IT Project Delivery
Methodologies and Processes. Communicate changes to stakeholders.
10. Provide Project Governance support, policy and governance advice on
Programs/Projects. Quality assure project documentation ensuring compliance to the
agreed Methodologies, Change Management and Architectural prac
