We are seeking a fixed term temporary full-time AO7 Principal Employee Relations Advisor (for 6 months) to join our team at Strategic Services Procurement, Department of Health. This role is responsible for providing strategic, tactical and operational employee and industrial relations advice for the Contracting In and Contracting Out Industrial Obligations project to enable the delivery on strategic objectives. **What we are looking for**:
- High-level skills and knowledge of the state industrial relations statutory framework (i.e. Industrial Relations Act 2016 and Public Service Act 2008) and industrial instruments which may be relevant to Queensland Health.
- Proven experience in managing all aspects of industrial disputes, demonstrated through advocacy, negotiation and persuasion skills.
- Record of achievement in providing high-level advisory and support services to senior stakeholders on employee and industrial relations matters including legislative frameworks, policy issues and developments, trends and emerging issues.
- Proven conceptual, analytical and innovative problem-solving skills that results in client focused solutions.
- Highly developed communication skills including the ability to write quality, concise reports, briefs and correspondence.
- Proven experience in building constructive relationships to negotiate and deliver outcomes for the organisation.
**Mandatory qualifications and other requirements**:
- Whilst not mandatory, qualifications in HR Management/IR, Law and Business or similar will be highly regarded.
- It is a condition of employment for this role, for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated against COVID-19 as per the Queensland Health Human Resources Policy B70.
- It may be a condition of employment for this role for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated against one or more of the following vaccine preventable diseases during their employment (Health Employment Directive No. 01/16): measles, mumps, rubella (MMR), varicella (chicken pox),pertussis (whooping cough), hepatitis B, tuberculosis.
