About the role:
Aurizon is seeking an experienced Employee Relations (ER) Advisor to join our People and Development team. As part of the People Advisory team in a national role, you will provide ER support across the business, offering advice and coaching to leaders on performance and conduct management matters.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Provide clear, practical advice on employee relations cases, guiding stakeholders through appropriate processes and next steps in case lifecycle
  • Lead and coach on complex performance and conduct matters, ensuring alignment with Aurizon's "Just and Fair" approach.
  • Build leader capability to foster high-performing, engaged teams through coaching and support.
  • Develop and implement tools, templates, training, and processes that support performance and conduct management.
  • Maintain strong governance standards in case documentation and file management.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement to both ER processes and internal capability programs.
  • Deliver accurate, compliant advice aligned with relevant legislation and Aurizon policies.
  • Collaborate across teams to drive joint initiatives and deliver impactful, enterprise-wide outcomes.

About you:

  • Proven experience in Employee Relations, with a solid understanding of Australian employment law, workplace legislation, and best practice.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or a related discipline (preferred).
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in HR, ER, or a similar advisory role (essential).
  • Ability to travel from time to time
  • Experience in advising leaders on performance and conduct matters, with a practical, solutions-focused approach.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with a track record of partnering effectively across all levels of the business.
  • High level of resilience and ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently while contributing to team outcomes.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and build trust.
