The role of the Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Allied Health Cadet is to provide support to the relevant Allied Health discipline team in the provision of providing quality patient care. The Cadet is required to work under the direction and supervision of an Allied Health Professional at all times, within their level of education and under clearly defined role parameters.
- Fixed Term with a required minimum of the equivalent of eight weeks Full Time (40 shifts over 12 months)
- Cadetship may be undertaken at either campus Mercy Hospital for Women or Werribee Mercy Hospital
- To provide patient-centered, family oriented, evidence based care within an inter-professional team environment to achieve the best possible outcomes for their patients
- To provide care and support as delegated relating to patients’ activities of daily living, ensuring that patients’ personal needs and comforts are maintained
- To assist in providing a safe patient environment and additional supervision ensuring patient safety
- Provide general support for the health care team, ensuring effective and efficient care delivery

**ABOUT YOU**:

- Currently enrolled full time in Bachelor degree or Masters level entry degree in an Allied Health discipline
- You identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander
