This is a VPS4 ongoing role in the Corporate Finance division.

**Corporate Finance Group**:
The Corporate Finance Group (CFG) provides financial services including statutory and external reporting, management reporting, budgeting, asset management, accounts payable and receivable as well as electronic procurement support. The Group also supports the Treasurer in the management and administration of the Community Support Fund (CSF) program.

Led by the CFO and the Director, Corporate Finance, the group oversees the following key functions: Budget Management, Grant Management, Financial Reporting, Taxation, Financial Management Compliance and Financial Operations (providing shared transactional services to DTF, DPC and agencies).

**About the role**

The incumbent will be required to:

- provide DTF, DPC and its portfolio agencies with efficient and effective asset management support services by managing the accounting for fixed assets including maintaining the asset register, undertaking assets registration and reconciliation, timely capitalisation of capital projects, the reconciliation and reporting of capital work in progress, asset verifications, asset revaluation, and providing timely and accurate analysis and reports therefrom.
- assist with the co-ordination and development of the capital budget for DTF and provision of associated reporting of assets and capital projects.
- assist in the timely and accurate preparation of periodical financial reporting and annual financial statements including robust analysis and commentary.
- assist in the delivery of the annual Standing Directions compliance attestation, including the preparation and lodgement of the department's Payroll Tax return, FBT return, BAS and TPAR.
- liaise with and influence stakeholders (including portfolio agencies, Victorian Auditor-General's Office and internal auditors) on financial accounting, reporting and compliance matters.
- support and contribute to the work of the broader CFG to achieve group and broader divisional goals.

**About you**

To be considered for the role, you must be able to demonstrate:

- Experience and ability in all aspects of financial reporting and compliance including asset management.
- Well-developed conceptual, analytical and writing abilities, including the preparation and presentation of sound advice, recommendations and reports, supported by robust analysis and data interpretation.
- Well-developed interpersonal, written communication, consultation and negotiation skills, including the ability to liaise with and influence clients and stakeholders at all levels, and deliver presentations and training to finance and non-finance staff.
- Experience in preparing accurate, timely and effective account reconciliations and financial reports.

**Experience and qualifications**:

- A relevant accounting tertiary qualification.
- Membership of relevant professional association desirable.
