- **Full Time Position**

The Environment Officer is responsible for providing guidance and expertise on environmental management, compliance and sustainability practices at the Mint within the dedicated environment team. They assess potential environmental impacts, articulate environmental risks, and develop strategies for compliance and improved performance for all Mint activities.

The duties of this position include:
2. Contributing to the maintenance of the Integrated Management System (IMS) by drafting complex desktop procedures in support of compliance and contemporary management of environmental aspects related to the Mint’s operating context.
3. Performing data analysis and preparing reports to assess the Mint’s environmental performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
4. Conducting audits and inspections to ensure that relevant standards of environmental management are met and ensure effective implementation of the IMS.
5. Undertaking reviews and assessments of the IMS against international standard ISO14001, relevant Australian Government and Australian Capital Territory requirements and contemporary sustainability practices.
6. Coordinating mandatory and other reporting requirements and correspondence.
7. Contributing to the development and implementation of strategies and projects that address the Mint’s environmental risk profile, performance outcomes and compliance obligations.
8. Maintaining knowledge of relevant Australian Government and Australian Capital Territory environmental frameworks, targets and obligations and assisting in the implementation of these e.g. Australian Government’s sustainability targets, APS Net Zero, Climate Risk and Opportunity Management Program, National Environment Protection Measures reporting and the National Waste Policy.

**Security clearance**
This position requires a **Baseline** security clearance. The successful applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a clearance at this level.

**Please note**:the salary range for this position will increase from 13 March 2025 to $77,848 - $82,403.
