We are looking for a Head of Corporate Communications to lead the development and execution of corporate communications initiatives for the Challenger Group, with a strong focus on financial market communications, including financial results, market releases and executive speeches.
- This role collaborates closely with senior management and key stakeholders across the organisation, requiring deep expertise in financial communications, and the ability to build trusted relationships at the executive level.
- The Corporate Affairs and Sustainability team is responsible for internal and external communications as well as Group Sustainability, reporting to the Chief of Staff and sits within the CEO’s office.
- The key responsibilities of the role are outlined below but are not limited to:

- Financial Communications- Lead and develop clear, compelling financial communications, including market releases.- Develop CEO, Chair, and executive speeches for key financial events such as financial results, Investor Days and AGMs.- Develop a cohesive narrative for the Group, ensuring consistency across all communications.
- Investor and Market Engagement- Contribute to results presentations and annual report content in collaboration with Investor Relations.- Lead media engagement for Challenger’s financial results and market communications.- Prepare the CEO and group executives for media engagements related to financial results, Investor Days, and AGMs.

Internal Communications- Lead internal financial communications, including CEO messaging and all-employee events, in collaboration with the Communications Manager.

Team and Strategic Support- Mentor team members in areas of expertise and contribute to the wider team’s work.- Support other projects as needed, such as sustainability communications and community partnership management.
- Issues Management & Advisory- Provide effective issues management and timely advice to senior management on financial communication-related matters.
- Knowledge and Skills:
- 10 years+ in experience in a corporate affairs or strategic communications role, including direct responsibility for media engagement.- Understanding of communications requirements of listed companies.- Demonstrated ability to build relationships with key stakeholders both internal and external.- Extensive knowledge of media landscape and best practice media engagement.- Confidence and the ability to collaborate effectively with senior leadership.
