Head of Development

About the Company
CDP is proud to be partnering with a purpose-driven philanthropic organisation on a career-defining leadership opportunity.
About the Role
We are recruiting a Head of Development to lead the development of strategic partnerships and a major gifts revenue stream that will drive systemic, inclusive change in the disability sector. In this influential role, you will work closely with the Executive Team and Board to engage corporate partners, inspire generosity, and build programs that foster long-term employment and inclusion outcomes for people with disability.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Director of Investment and Philanthropy to design and deliver donor and partner strategies with a strong focus on major gifts and corporate giving.
- Drive engagement with businesses committed to diversity and inclusion to develop co-branded initiatives and employment programs for people with disability.
- Conduct in-depth prospect research, including identifying values-aligned corporates, high-net-worth individuals, and philanthropic institutions.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive stewardship and retention plan for both individual donors and corporate partners.
- Produce compelling proposals, partnership packages, and communication materials that articulate the organisation's mission and measurable impact.
- Represent the organisation at high-level industry forums, business events, and philanthropic networks.
- Monitor giving trends, corporate social responsibility initiatives, and performance metrics to inform decision-making and campaign refinement.
Qualifications
This is a rare opportunity to shift the philanthropic and corporate landscape to prioritise disability inclusion and meaningful employment. Despite the assumption that NDIS meets all needs, many system-level barriers persist. You will lead the charge in shifting perceptions, building influential networks, and enabling large-scale, sustainable change. By embedding inclusive employment initiatives into corporate partnerships, this role delivers tangible outcomes for people with disability, while building a future-facing community of advocates and allies.
Required Skills
You are a strategic, values-led leader with a proven ability to build powerful partnerships and secure funding at scale. You have a deep understanding of the corporate and philanthropic sectors, especially in the areas of diversity, equity, and inclusion. You bring a mix of commercial acumen, emotional intelligence, and storytelling skill—and you're ready to help make systemic change to the disability sector.
