**About - Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology**
The Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology (FEIT) is the leading Australian provider of engineering and IT education. **About the Role**
The Indigenous Engagement Coordinator is responsible for providing high-level administrative and project coordination to enable FEIT’s Indigenous strategy. The Coordinator plays a leading role in developing and implementing strategies and initiatives that promote Indigenous student pathways into engineering and IT.
Working closely with the Director, Indigenous Strategy, the Indigenous Engagement Coordinator will foster collaborative and respectful relationships with Indigenous communities and Traditional Knowledge Holders including, but not limited to, the following initiatives; Victorian Indigenous Engineering Winter School (VIEWS), Worowa Aboriginal College and industry projects within Indigenous businesses.
This is an exciting opportunity for those with exceptional interpersonal and relationship management skills to lead and influence initiatives with tangible outcomes for both our students and the broader community.
Responsibilities include:
- Develop and implement Indigenous initiatives in line with strategic objectives, building and optimising relationships with key stakeholders and reporting on key outcomes.
- Coordination of the Victorian Indigenous Engineering Winter School (VIEWS), inclusive of student recruitment, program delivery, OHS risk assessments, liaison with the partnering Universities and Indigenous Units to achieve objectives.
- Working with the Director, Indigenous Strategy, oversee the development and implementation of a plan for signature events that recognize and raise the profile of Indigenous days of significance and celebration.
**About You**
Your highly-developed project management and interpersonal skills will enable you to design and implement initiatives and work effectively with a diverse group of stakeholders to ensure their success. You have proven ability to identify and maintain strategic relationships and promote opportunities for leading to mutually beneficial outcomes. You have prior experience working with Indigenous communities with sound cultural awareness.
You will also have:
- Experience in leading and coordinating projects and/or events requiring a capacity to exercise sound judgement and a high level of initiative to resolve issues and recommend and implement solutions to meet the needs of multiple stakeholders.
- Proven capacity to develop strategic partnerships internal and external to the University that foster goodwill, generate collaboration and reach productive agreements.
