About the Role

The Wholesale Pricing Team is a critical part of the Integrated Portfolio Planning business unit and is responsible for the management and delivery of wholesale products and pricing for AGL’s Business and Consumer segments.

As energy market transitions to decarbonise and as customers become active participants in the energy market through ownership of solar, batteries, electric vehicles, etc traditional energy pricing models are being augmented by innovative pricing models and customer experiences that create additional value for both customers and AGL.

The Wholesale Pricing team partners with teams across AGL to provide strategic pricing capability and support in the development of innovative customer propositions. The Pricing Analyst will therefore play a leading role in the management of end-to-end pricing which supports customer outcomes and creates value for AGL. They will own the ongoing development of pricing models, which focus on continuous improvement and deliver strategic and commercial analysis with an emphasis on portfolio and market insights that improves decision making and risk management.

What you’ll be doing:

- Collaboration with key business stakeholders to identify and deliver pricing outcomes that provide value for customers and AGL
- Provision of accurate and timely wholesale pricing for our internal and external customers
- Own and develop AGL pricing models, proactively identifying opportunities to improve processes and/or enhance value for AGL
- Evaluation of financial opportunities and risks (for both customer and AGL) of new and complex pricing propositions in the energy such as solar, batteries and electric vehicles
- Performs commercial analytics (such as customer load-shape segmentation) and communicates insights that enhances decision making
- Maintain and uplifting core pricing IT systems

What you’ll bring to the table:

- Experience in commercial modelling and/or understanding of the financial opportunities and risks of wholesale pricing
- Working knowledge of programming languages such as SQL, Python or R
- Exposure to data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau
- A curiosity for asking questions, understanding how things work and challenging how things are done
- Excellent presentation and communication skills
- Previous exposure in Pricing roles or to Energy Markets roles
- Tertiary qualification(s) in relevant technical and/or business discipline
