**Position Information**:
Adaminaby Public School is a small rural school in the Snowy Mountains of New South Wales. It stands on the lands of the Ngarigo people and is situated 54 kilometres from Cooma. The current school enrolment of 11 students predominately draws from the rural areas of Adaminaby and the surrounding Monaro region.
The school structure consists of one multi-grade class with one full-time Teaching Principal. The part-time staff include; two temporary classroom teachers, two School Learning Support Officers, a School Administration Manager and a General Assistant.
The school is well resourced and has excellent facilities, including well-maintained classrooms, a comprehensive library and natural surrounds that provide a peaceful and relaxed learning atmosphere. The main classrooms are fitted with interactive whiteboards and every student has access to school laptops and tablets to support student learning. The school provides a broad range of activities including the performing arts, cultural, leadership and sporting experiences, environmental education, and a kitchen garden program. ?
Adaminaby Public School is a member of the Eden-Monaro Small Schools Network, which supports staff to engage in evidence-based professional learning and network with colleagues in other local small schools. The school is committed to improving student achievement and growth in both reading and numeracy, and a differentiated and individualised approach to learning supports student success in a multi-stage context. There is a focus on high-impact and explicit teaching practices, underpinned by research-based professional learning and evidence-based best practice. The school places a strong emphasis on supporting student wellbeing and the school is committed to continuing to strengthen its partnership with the local community.
**Selection Criteria**:
In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary.
- Demonstrated capacity to balance the complex teaching, administrative and leadership roles of a teaching principal.
- Highly visible leader with strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to build effective partnerships with students, staff, parents, and the community.
- Proven ability to provide high level instructional leadership and quality teaching and learning programs to drive the growth and achievement of every student in a multi-stage setting with a strong focus on literacy and numeracy.
**General Selection Criteria**:
- High level educational leadership with the skills to lead and manage a complex public school focused on the delivery of high quality education.
- Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole-school teaching and learning programs.
- High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community.
- Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning.
- Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policies and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
