**Position Information**:
Fairy Meadow Public School is a unique environment that provides contemporary education to 400 children. There are five support classes, a preschool and 13 mainstream classes. The rich diversity of the population sees 30% of children from Language backgrounds other than English and 6% of students identify as Aboriginal.
The school has identified three areas of focus for this Strategic Improvement Plan, Student growth and attainment, Innovation and inquiry, Inclusive and collaborative partnerships. The strong emphasis of this plan is the differentiation of the curriculum, formative assessment, wellbeing of our students and an ongoing focus on high expectations, explicit teaching and effective feedback.
Relationships with the school community will be enhanced to create a partnership in learning opportunity and to showcase the work of our students. We will promote the school and find opportunities to demonstrate and celebrate success to the wider community.
Student leadership and ownership of learning will continue to be promoted and researched through agency and voice opportunities, especially in the learning domain. The focus on high expectations for what students produce provides a platform for improvement and innovation. The school aims to create more inclusive and collaborative family-school-community partnerships.
The school has a recently established permaculture garden and aims to utilise this space as a living classroom for students, staff and community in the coming years.

- ability to lead, and demonstrated commitment to developing collaborative teams with the capacity to implement innovative and future focused learning opportunities; and,
- highly engaged leadership which inspires staff, student and parents in supporting student engagement and achievement, and the school’s continued growth and success.
**General Selection Criteria**:
1. High level educational leadership with the skills to lead and manage a complex public school focused on the delivery of high quality education
2. Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole school teaching and learning programs
3. High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community
4. Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning
5. Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning
6. Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policies and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people
