Social Work Discipline Lead

About the role
The Social Work Discipline Lead provides specialised clinical services to mental health consumers in Forensic and Secure Services. The role provides leadership and professional governance for social workers in Forensic and Secure Services which is comprised of the state-wide High Security Inpatient Service, supra-Hospital and Health Service Secure Mental Health Rehabilitation Unit and the Extended Forensic Treatment and Rehabilitation Unit. The role is responsible for the professional and operational leadership of a medium size team of Social Workers. Where required the role provides professional leadership and discipline specific activities including clinical supervision to Social Workers working in the Prison Mental Health Service, The Learning Centre and Queensland Centre for Mental Health Research.
About you
- Demonstrates capacity to provide advanced Social Work clinical services, professional and operational leadership of Social Workers in the context of a Forensic and Secure inpatient setting.
- Demonstrates high level communication skills in the context of the management and planning of the Social Work service and leading initiatives across discipline and service work units including high level negotiation, management and conflict resolution skills.
- Demonstrates high level operational strategic and management skills and accountability for meeting prescribed fiscal and human resource management targets.
- Demonstrates ability to set direction and lead relevant service development activities including service improvement in the context of a state-wide specialist service
**Mandatory Requirements**:
- Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
- Vaccinated against COVID-19 as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO.12/21and the Queensland Health Human Resources Policy B70.
