Manager (Energy Transition) - Clients and Markets

The role

Propel your business development career by assuming a critically important role (based in Brisbane) driving our client-facing National Energy Transition industry group strategy, working in and alongside our market leading practice.

In this newly designed future-focused role, you will identify, analyse, and implement business development initiatives in support of our National Energy Transition partners and lawyers, as well the pursuit of the Green Energy, Carbon Capture, and Hydrogen sectors. This role will also see you play a key leadership role supporting the Head of the Energy Transition National Industry Group, relevant stakeholders on strategic green energy initiatives as well as client development responsibility for key energy accounts.

Key responsibilities

Being part of a national Clients & Markets (C&M) team, you will develop and implement sophisticated client-focused and market-focused strategies to achieve the firm's objectives.

Key responsibilities include:

- Working with the Head of the National Energy Industry Group to develop and implement credible and effective business development plans and initiatives (including awareness training, profile raising, collaboration projects, and the energy transition business development strategy)
- Working with key stakeholders on Green Energy, Carbon Capture, and Hydrogen sector pursuits and initiatives
- Project management of, and driving tenders and bid opportunities, including business plans, tender flow and profiling
- Managing key client accounts
- Working with colleagues on pursuits and cross-practice group initiatives
- Identifying client/new work opportunities, emerging product and service areas and working with other stakeholders to pursue these
- Working with the team to implement the firm's Client Service strategy
- Participating in client feedback sessions and matter debriefs
- Working on other business critical projects across the business
- Communicating the vision and purpose of C&M to the firm to heighten its understanding of the role of C&M as trusted advisers

Skills & Experience

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Relevant tertiary qualifications (either business or legal) coupled with legal/business development experience gained ideally from a professional services environment (experience in the energy and resources sector would be advantageous)
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, the ability to influence, persuade and negotiate outcomes
- Strong tender management skills and a proactive and pragmatic style
- Proven leadership skills, including people/team management experience
- Agility and proactivity, a connector and collaborator
- Curiosity and intellect - an ability to ask the right questions and listen to the response
- Business acumen - understanding drivers of the business
- Ability to build rapport and relationships, with a strong good influencing and consulting style
