**ABOUT THE ROLE**

We have an exciting opportunity for an **Accounts Assistant/Accounts Payable Officer **to join our team We are looking for a driven and enthusiastic team player who will assist the Finance Team in accounts payable and accounting functions to ensure supplier accounts up to date and month end processes are met.

**THIS ROLE WILL SEE YOU**:

- Reconciliation of creditor statements
- Invoice entry and approval requirements
- Preparation of payments to suppliers
- Supplier database maintenance
- Assisting with month end procedures
- Daily, weekly, monthly reconciliations
- Perform other related duties as required
- Act as a backup for the other Senior Accounts Payable Officer as required
- Assist the Finance Manager and GM - Finance when and as required

**YOUR KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES WILL BE**:

- Level of accuracy & efficiency of the creditors function
- Ability to identify & advise the division of any discrepancies in costing
- Timeliness of supplier payments
- Effective assistance to the Group Accountant

**WHO ARE YOU?**
- Tertiary education in Accounting/Commerce is desirable
- Can be studying towards CPA/CA
- Accounts Payable experience is essential
- Excel reconciliation skills essential
- Knowledge and experience in documentation of operational processes
- Must have a strong sense of urgency
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong team work ethic
- 2-3 years experience in all aspects of the accounting process
