We are fortunate to be partnering with Right at Home Newcastle who provides high quality client focused in-home care services to their local community to enable people to live independently in their own homes. We are seeking an experienced Accounts Officer / Assistant Accountant to join the Newcastle team on a full time permanent basis. As this is a newly created role, you will have full autonomy to make the role your own with the support from the National Head office which is based in Brisbane.
**You’ll be responsible for**:
- Handling all bookkeeping tasks, including financial administration, client invoices, accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Managing the general ledger, ensuring accurate and up-to-date financial records.
- Providing backup support for the Home Care Package administrative function and assisting with client queries.
- Preparing financial reports and assist with fortnightly payroll using Xero.
- Collaborating with office and care staff, supporting team members and liaising with external stakeholders.
- Maintaining accurate documentation, adhere to organisational policies, and contribute to continuous improvement.
**Essentially you’ll have**:
- Strong knowledge and experience in bookkeeping and accounting procedures with a Diploma and/or Certificate IV Bookkeeping, Accounting and/or relevant experience
- Proficient in using Xero accounting system
- Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with team members.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Empathetic and patient, with a commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
