In this exciting role you will have the overall responsibility to independently verify and validate Software engineering activities and Software Assurance activities, for the OneSKY Project ($1.3 billion project) and other similar Air Traffic Management business for other bids and programmes. Ultimately to ensure that the business deliver systems as a whole are implementing the appropriate software process and achieving the required software assurance levels.
The position is a technical leadership role requiring quality in managing small teams of experts. The environment is multi-cultural environment with a variety of international customers. The position requires the capability to be a gatekeeper and challenge the organization at various levels when required. The role is based in Melbourne at the World Trade Centre and reports to the Technical Director. The position is a high-profile role that carries influence within very interesting, complex and unique projects.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Participation in key technical reviews for all bids and projects
- Contribute to effective Software Assurance governance through operational Software Assurance organisation and applicable instructions
- For products and solutions in bids & projects:
- Challenges, supports and validates software architecture and strategies in bids, products and projects
- Challenges, supports and validates software assurance organisations and strategies in bids, products and projects
- Ensures that projects and products have a valid software assurance strategy with Software Assurance risks properly identified
- Be accountable for Software assurance assessments
- Interacts with Safety and Cybersecurity Authorities
- Manages Software Assurance technical expertise and skills and principles
- Supports the investigation of complex technical problems that may occur on projects
- Completes assessment of the upcoming software assurance regulations and standards, impacting the Air Mobility Solution products and projects
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- Tertiary Qualifications in Engineering, or Degree in computer sciences (minimum Bachelor of Sciences) and network discipline
- 7 years minimum of experience holding positions in systems engineering and/or software engineering and/or integration on complex software-centric real-time systems
- A proven track-record in designing architectural solutions for complex systems
- Experience in the Air Traffic Management Domain will be a strong asset
- Experience with Software Assurance/Quality standards
