Municipal Building Surveyor

This Melbourne based council is one of the fastest growing municipalities and are seeking to make a real difference in their municipality. Working within the Building & Planning Department we are looking for an enthusiastic, team focused Municipal Building Surveyor who can empower their staff to be the best versions of themselves.
You will:
- Ensure that all statutory obligations placed upon Council in relation to the Building Act, Building Regulations and building safety are met.
- Carry out the statutory role of the Municipal Building Surveyor and administer the requirements of the Building Act and its Regulations ensuring that the public is protected and aware of the current legislation.
- Provide a high quality effective and efficient building approval, inspection and reporting service to the community.
- Support and guide the Building Services Team in establishing service standards, business objectives and outcomes to be achieved, developing strategies and initiatives to be implemented through creative integrated practices.
