One of Melbourne's leading health services, research and teaching facilities. Based in the CBD they employ over 700 employees over a range of sites. This newly created role is designed to drive the HSE and Wellness agenda across this value-based organisation.

**The Role**
Reporting to the Director, PPE the Health, Safety and Wellbeing Lead is responsible for enabling our people to be their best through the provision of contemporary HS&W leadership, governance, and support.

This position is key in advancing and enabling a unified culture of safety, wellbeing, and operational excellence to ensure quality staff care. More specifically this will include:

- Manage regular safety and quality reporting for all levels of the business, including Board and the Health and Safety Committee -, including analysing and synthesising data and insights to improve performance
- Develop, implement and review Risk management framework, OHS Plans and Strategy
- Lead the management of first aid compliance, Workcover insurance and return to work coordination.
- Lead the design, development and implementation of WHS initiatives and plan and support hybrid working and delivering priority interventions including co-chairing HSW committee meetings
- Manage the systematic identification of health, safety and wellbeing risks to all staff through OHS audit to ensure suitable safety controls are planned and promote a safe working environment
- Lead the prevention, early intervention, and business wide implementation of plans to improve WHS outcomes.
- Oversee the management of all aspects relating to incidents, injury management and workers compensation.

To see you successful in this role it is imperative you are a people person, demonstrating excellent relationship building skills.

You will have:

- Solid and effective communication with the ability to add polish and professionalism when dealing with stakeholders at various level
- The ability to work under pressure to multiple demanding timelines coupled with well-developed written and verbal communication skills
- Relevant tertiary qualification in work, health, and safety (or a related
discipline) and equivalent industry experience
- Strong experience in developing Workplace Health, Safety & Wellbeing
policies and procedures
- Strong knowledge of Australian health and safety legislation and experience managing projects and change in systems and organisational culture
- Experience in engaging and influencing stakeholders with a focus on
relationship building, collaborating and managing the expectations of key stakeholder groups and providing an outcome that benefits the
organisation
