**About the role**

The Program Planning Manager is accountable to the maintenance manager for the quality and effectiveness of all planning, execution and certification activities. They are responsible for the quality and effectiveness of the program and project management services being provided by the Integrated Project Team (IPT) they lead.

The Program Planning Manager plays a key role in developing a robust, efficient and effective maintenance planning and delivery organisation that is critical to the competitive success of the LHD ACPC. They will champion a culture of embracing change, ensuring they are committed to identifying and improving existing processes and procedures.

**Responsibilities include but are not limited to**:

- Coordinate internal business units to ensure project readiness through Stage Gates 1, 2, 3 and 6;
- Facilitate meetings with internal and client stakeholders for the Stage Gates;
- Provide oversight and direction to assure quality outcomes are delivered and maintained for future planning of maintenance periods;
- Understand KPIs and objectively report on contribution to program performance;
- Assist with the close out of projects through delivery of accurate TM165, ensuring appropriate HRAs are raised and planned for remediation;
- Maintain integrity of External Maintenance Period (EMP) contracted deliverables; and
- Maintain compliance for any other contract deliverables, close out and certification.

**About you**

**Essential**:

- Establish and maintain clear expectations relating to Trade Control compliance;
- Take all reasonable steps to ensure Trade Controls are considered in all relevant business opportunities and activities;
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills;
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills;
- Ability to establish effective working relationships with stakeholders at different levels both internally and externally;
- Strong problem-solving skills and able to make sound decisions;
- Demonstrated ability to manage and coordinate multiple tasks effectively and efficiently;
- Demonstrated leadership experience within a sustainment sector;
- Experience in developing and managing service-based delivery teams;
- Extensive knowledge of defence systems, in particular AMPS, CMT-U, Mercury and MMP; and
- Intermediate to advanced skills in the Microsoft Office suite of products, in particular Word and Excel.

Desirable
- Experience of delivering complex projects under an Asset Management framework;
- Experience in developing strategies within a ship maintenance planning / support / delivery / repair environment;
- Project Management background in sustainment relating to complex assets;
- Two (2) years’ experience in a similar position;
- Technical knowledge of warship major platform systems; and
- Experience of systems integration and commissioning programs.

**Essential Compliance Requirements**:

- Must either hold, or be eligible to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance at the following level;
- AGSVA Baseline Clearance
- AGSVA Negative Vetting - NV1
- Current Motor Vehicle Driver’s Licence;
- Construction Induction Card (White Card).
- No restrictions to access For Official Use Only (FOUO) level or ITAR controlled material
