Environmental Services Assistant

**About the Role**

The Environmental Services Assistant is responsible in providing a safe, clean Ward/Unit environment in accordance with Infection Control and Occupational Safety and Health regulations.

Under direction and supervision of Enviro Services Coordinators, you will provide effective support contributing to the operational support of the hospital. You will be expected to deliver excellent customer service and be required to assist in stock maintenance and control. you’ll be working within a fast-paced team-focused environment within our Greenslopes Private Hospital. Your duties may include, but are not limited to:

- You are a positive and energetic team player. You enjoy working as part of a supportive, collaborative team and independently when required.
- The Patient Service Assistant is responsible in providing a safe, clean Ward/Unit environment in accordance with Infection Control and Occupational Safety and Health regulations.
- Under direction and supervision, you will provide effective support contributing to the operational management of the hospital.
- You will be expected to deliver excellent customer service and be required to assist in stock maintenance and control.
- You will demonstrate a good work ethic that includes punctuality, integrity, respect for others, and a commitment to professional practice.

**Additionally, you will**:

- Perform all **cleaning** tasks, including decontamination of beds and **cleaning of Wards** and **equipment**[Desirable]
- Perform all is to **transport patient’s** duties between departments/wards and** soiled linen**tasks (Laundry Management), decontaminate all bins, and securely manage the **Clinical Waste** [Desirable]
- Assisting nursing staff with lifting/positioning patients (as required) and bed making.
- Identifies risks and hazards and reports promptly to ensure that safety measures are maintained.
- Perform other adhoc duties as required and requested by management.

**Your Skills and Experience**
- Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritise workloads, Completion of all the required** training**, or willingness to undertake.
- Experience in cleaning services in a hospital or healthcare setting [Desirable].
- You are dedicated to the highest standards of safety, cleanliness and infection control
- Knowledge and understanding of material data safety sheets
- Knowledge and understanding of Manual Handling principles, Occupational Safety and Health practices, Infection Control and Housekeeping Protocols, including usage of cleaning equipment.
- Flexible to work a rotating roster with a variety of shifts available [Desirable]
