Due to unprecedented growth within our business nationally, we are looking for an experienced Safety Leader to support our NSW team.

The role provides specialist technical advice and support to the operations and shared services teams to assist them to develop a culture characterised by care, respect and accountability for performance
- “Safety First in everything we do.” As part of this role, you will develop and implement HSEQ improvement plans that are aligned with the Compass Group Safety and Risk Management Systems whilst working closely with the GM’s of our business. The role may at times require interstate travel, and will be based in our **Sydney office.**

**Role Responsibilities**:

- Working collaboratively with, and coaching the Operation’s Leaders, Managers, HSEQ and other Shared Services teams to implement and maintain the HSEQ plans and programs.
- Setting up appropriate consultative mechanisms to ensure the involvement of everyone in the running of safe operations and driving & supporting processes for identifying, assessing, managing and recording hazards and risks.
- Provide training and coaching in HSEQ requirements, regulations, and best practices. This includes facilitating approved training courses
- Drive / Lead the implementation and adherence to the food safety program and procedures. i.e. minimise breaches of the food safety program and to reduce the Urban Business’ Food Safety Incident Rate (FSIR
- Undertake leadership interactions to drive risk awareness and care with employees and leaders.
- Review and maintain procedures for environmental management within Urban business that are closely aligned with the company’s accredited Environmental Management System
- Support and maintain company certification to Australian and International standards in accordance with the external HSEQ audit program.
- Assist in investigation of incidents
- Site audits and preparing reports and corrective actions following the audits

The Person
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in improving safe operations including a demonstrated capability to influence leaders to implement HSEQ standards and procedures throughout the business.
- Previous exposure to facilities management is preferred
- Demonstrated experience participating, driving, and monitoring HSEQ programs.
- Awareness of food safety legislation, standards and codes.
- Certificate IV Work Health and Safety or be prepared to complete a certificate IV in Work Health and Safety.
- Advanced verbal and written communication skills
